ReuVera's Wood burning's as Custom Art and Gifts for Sale.
72Pyrography
Pyrography means "writing with fire" and it is the traditional art of using a heated tip or wire to burn or scorch designs onto natural materials such as wood or leather. Burning can be done by means of a modern solid-point tool (similar to a soldering iron) or hot wire tool, or a more basic method using a metal implement heated in a fire, or even sunlight concentrated with a magnifying lens.
Time
My hobby since I was a child
I started wood burning pictures when I was in middle school. That time everything was scarce in Soviet country. We didn't even hear about wood burning tools. My first wood burner was a simple magnifying glass. I was wood burning only in summer on nice sunny days. My neighbor called this "drawing with sun rays". It was a really magic feeling- catching a sun ray, focusing it in a dot and dragging this dot to make a sketch. Then later I bought a simple electric wood burner with one stationary tip. All my wood burnings were either given away as gifts, or just left behind when we emigrated from the Soviet Union. Not long ago one of my youth friends sent me a picture of a picture I made for her 25 years ago. Here is this picture, called "Time".
I made lots of pictures since
Since then I was wood burning from time to time, but I got back to this hobby recently with full attention. I like to burn pictures on different types of wood, but my favorites are basswood and soft maple (sycamore).
Here I am going to show some of my works. I will appreciate if somebody can give me a feed back, as I am contemplating to start wood burning pictures for sale. We settled our web site which is new and fresh and is updated often.
You can check some of my works also here.

ReuVera,
You are an amazing artist to come up with a wood burning technique on your own as a kid. I never would have thought of doing something like that, which shows on resourceful people are when they have little to work with. Your pieces are amazing. Thanks for sharing all of these beautiful picture. C.S. Alexis recommended your hub, so I just had to come and see.
